What is Swedish Death Cleaning?
The term “Swedish Death Cleaning” may sound morbid, but it is not! This practice comes from the cultural norms of the Swedish people, who believe they should manage their belongings and estate planning before they pass away. This way, their family members are not overwhelmed after their death. Margareta Magnusson introduced this concept to the world in her 2017 book, “The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning.”
Swedish Death Cleaning is a form of decluttering reflecting love for your family and yourself. It encourages intentional living and the idea of surrounding yourself with only those things that bring you joy, ultimately helping to create a meaningful legacy. The items you leave behind tell a story about who you were in life. What story do you want to tell?
Available services:
Editing all belongings: What do you keep? Who will it end up with? What do you do with the items that you don’t want? We will assemble an inventory document for all important items, explaining who will inherit them, any special instructions, and other pertinent information.
Intentional and functional decorating to create a beautifully curated home. Your home will eventually need to be inherited or sold. A home free of clutter that is well taken care of and meaningfully decorated will be an amazing legacy for your loved ones.
Showcasing collections and memorabilia
Organization of digital files, pictures, passwords, and account management.
